Introducing the Watershed Hero FREE Rain Barrel Program and New Owner 2-for-1 Deal.
If you live in the Watershed and already own a rain barrel, you can receive a 2nd barrel FREE! This 2nd barrel may be installed at your home, or you can give it to a friend or neighbor in the watershed. Be a Watershed Hero and further reduce stormwater runoff in the Nine Mile Run Watershed. Watershed residents who own either a NMRWA or a RiverSafe rain barrel are eligible to participate.

2-for-1 is now being offered for new owners. If you do not already own a rain barrel and live in the watershed or sewershed, you can buy one rain barrel and get a second one free! To receive your FREE NMRWA rain barrel as a Watershed Hero or to see if you qualify for our 2-for-1 program, contact Luke by email (luke@ninemilerun.org) or call (412) 371-8779, ext. 120.

The Nine Mile Run Watershed is a small urban watershed located in Pittsburgh's East End. While measuring just 6.5 square miles in area, the watershed is home to numerous exciting projects and initiatives. Among them is the largest urban stream restoration in the U.S. completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Nine Mile Run Watershed Association (NMRWA) programs complement this amazing physical transformation with a variety of innovative projects that involve community residents directly in urban ecology initiatives that improve the health of the watershed.

At NMRWA, we see urban neighborhoods and residents as important parts of the natural world - not separate from it. This philosophy is helping us transform our urban watershed one resident, one home, and one neighborhood at a time. Every effort counts, so read on and see what you can do to make a difference!

Our Citizen's Guides are now available Online.
