In December 2016, the Board of Directors of the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association completed and adopted a new three-year strategic plan. Working with Fourth Economy consultants, NMRWA Board and staff gathered input from community stakeholders, and considered the rapid changes taking place in the Pittsburgh region’s understanding of and approach to water resources, stormwater management, and other environmental issues. The resulting plan maintains our core commitment to stewarding the remarkable restoration of the Nine Mile Run stream, while also more clearly defining the growing role we are playing in the region’s environmental community.
Two Key Goals of the 2017-2019 Strategic Plan:
1. Maintain and advance our impact in the Nine Mile Run Watershed
2. Leverage our experience to support efforts to improve and
steward the region’s watersheds and regional water quality.
