The Nine Mile Run stream restoration is complete.

Acres of invasive species have been removed and thousands of native plants have been planted along the new stream course.

We need you!

Monitor and steward this wonderful public amenity by becoming an Urban EcoSteward. Urban EcoStewards working along Nine Mile Run, monitor and remove invasive plant species, pick up litter, and catalogue native plants. If you would like to join these folks and help us reach our 2011 goal of 45 UES volunteers along Nine Mile Run, please contact Luke at (412)371-8779 ext. 120.

For more information, you can view or download the Urban EcoSteward Brochure by clicking here or fill out an application form here. Please send the completed application form to luke@ninemilerun.org.

If you would like to learn more about invasive plants, the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources offers an excellent online tutorial about invasive exotic plants in our region.
